Conferences 2006
2006 TRaCS Conference
The theme of the 2006 conference, "Traumatic Incidents: Impact On Lives," highlighted the diversity of traumatic events and psycholigical impact of such incidents on lives. TRaCS brought together a program which presented the impact of various traumatic incidents across the span of life.
Two trauma experts from the US – Dr Victor Welzant (Director of Education and Training of ICISF) and Dr Richard Ottenstein (CEO, Workplace Trauma Center) – shared their experiences in best practices for managing traumatic events. Both speakers also conducted ICISF-certified courses at the pre-conference workshops – Dr Welzant on "Stress Management for Trauma Providers," and Dr Ottenstein on "Strategic Response to Crisis." Local trauma experts also spoke on important topics such as family violence, child abuse and vicarious traumatization.
The conference was organized by TRaCS, co-sponsored by Changi General Hospital and GlaxoSmithKline, and supported by the Singapore Psychiatric Association.
